Course Description

  • Designed for students who can already read the Qur’an with reasonable fluency but want to improve their accuracy and Tajwid. Through a complete, guided reading of Juzz ‘Amma, students will refine their pronunciation, correct common mistakes and learn to apply the essential rules of Tajwid in practice. The emphasis is on developing a clear, accurate and confident recitation that can then be applied throughout the Qur’an.

Course Outline

  • Students will complete a full reading of Juzz ‘Amma, focusing on:

    • Correct makharij and pronunciation of each letter
    • Improving fluency, accuracy and confidence
    • Correct application of madd and vowel lengths
    • Rules of nun sakinah and tanwin
    • Rules of mim sakinah
    • Qalqalah and other essential Tajwid rules
    • Heavy and light letters
    • Correct stopping and starting (waqf and ibtida’)
    • Identifying and correcting common recitation mistakes
    • Developing consistency in applying Tajwid independently

    Outcome: By the end of the course, students should be able to recite Juz ‘Amma accurately and fluently with correct application of the essential rules of Tajwid, providing a strong foundation for reciting the rest of the Qur’an.

    The course is suitable for men (age 16+) who can read the Qur'an fluently but want to acquire correct tajwid.
