Support Students to Study Arabic Abroad

Abu Zahra Foundation's Student Scholarship Fund is an initiative to support serious and committed students to study Arabic abroad in a Muslim country such as Egypt or Turkey.

This fund exists to remove financial barriers for eligible students and help develop future students of knowledge who will benefit the wider Muslim community.

What the Fund Supports

Successful applicants may receive a fully funded Arabic study award, which can include:

  •  Tuition fees 
  •  Return flights 
  •  Term-based living support
  •  Books and study materials

Programme Length: 1 year (in select cases, longer may be approved)
Students Supported Each Year: 2 students (subject to funds)
First Intake: September 2026

Zakat Only

We accept only Zakat donations for the Student Scholarship Fund.

All Zakat donations are distributed only to Zakat-eligible students, in accordance with Islamic guidelines.

  • Who Can Apply?

    Applicants should be:

    •  Zakat eligible for Zakat-funded support
    •  Strong academically and capable of intensive study
    •  Committed and serious about learning Arabic full-time
    •  Able to travel and study abroad
    •  Able to provide two references
    •  Typically aged 18–30 (exceptions may be considered)
    Preference may be given to applicants from the Keighley or Bradford area where candidates are otherwise similar.

  • Key Dates (2026)

    • Fundraising Launch: March 2026
    • Applications Open: April 2026
    • Selections Complete By: End of July 2026
    • Programme Begins: September 2026
